No: 194, 22 July 2018, Press Release Regarding The Terrorist Attack In Kabul
We condemn the suicide attack that took place in front of the Kabul Hamid Karzai International Airport right after the departure of First Vice-President Abdul Rashid Dostum who, in accordance with the aggrement reached between him and the Afghan Government, returned to Afghanistan today (22 July) from Turkey, where he had been staying more than a year.
Although the First Vice-President Dostum and his motorcade were not harmed, we learned with sorrow that 11 people, most of whom security officers, have been killed as a result of the attack. We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and convey our condolences to the Afghan people and state.
